The Trouble with MaryA Jith Peries production is always welcomed by Colombo theatre-goers and this comeback effort by the veteran director/ actor is likely to be even more so, being for the worthy cause of the visually handicapped. Ably assisted by Mohamed Adamally who also takes the lead role, Jith's adaptation of Jean Kerr's satirical play 'The Trouble with Mary' will be staged as dinner theatre at the Colombo Hilton on September 28. The play also stars Indika Mananwatte, Rushika Weerasooriya, Sudeshna Ranmuthugala, Deshan Hewasagayam and Delon Weerasinghe. The story revolves around a successful publisher Bob Kellaway whose idyllic life with his new girlfriend is rudely shattered by the re-appearance of his ex-wife Mary. Proceeds from the play will go to the Sri Lanka Federation of the Visually Handicapped. The production came about thanks to the efforts of 'The Friends of the Visually Handicapped' who have also planned other events to support the cause. This show is also supported by the Chesa Suisse restaurant and the Hilton Hotel. |
