Sri Lanka once again showed its growing appeal as a top destination for boutique and luxury travel at the ‘B2B Luxury Connect Sri Lanka 2026’, held recently at Monarch Imperial. The event brought together more than 100 boutique hotels, international travel agents and tourism professionals, highlighting the island’s unique high-end travel experiences.
Organised for the seventh consecutive year by Druvi Gunesekera, founder and Managing Director of ‘Boutiques in Sri Lanka’, the event continues to play a key role in promoting Sri Lanka as a leading luxury and boutique travel destination.
With more than 18 years in the travel industry, Druvi has become a strong voice for Sri Lanka’s boutique hospitality sector, promoting small luxury properties and personalised travel experiences to the world.

The Chief Guest at this year’s event was Ruwan Ranasinghe, Deputy Minister of Tourism, who delivered the keynote address. He highlighted how boutique and luxury tourism attracts high-spending travellers who bring strong economic benefits to the country.
He also shared the government’s vision of building a tourism industry that is sustainable, community-focused and globally competitive. Boutique hotels, he said, play an important role in achieving this goal by offering authentic and personalised travel experiences while supporting local communities.
The event also celebrated Sri Lanka’s rich culture. Guests enjoyed traditional food, drinks and entertainment, creating a warm and colourful atmosphere that reflected the island’s heritage alongside its modern hospitality standards.
B2B Luxury Connect continues to build valuable partnerships between Sri Lanka’s boutique hotels and international travel agents, helping the country strengthen its position in the global luxury travel market.
