Former Member of Parliament Sri Ranga was arrested today over an accident which took place in Chettikulam, Vavuniya in 2011, Police said.
He was arrested while receiving treatment at the Kalubowila hospital.
One person was killed in the accident after being hit by the vehicle driven by Mr Ranga, but he had switched the driver soon after
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
