District Secretary of Vavuniya district Saman Bandulasena will assume duties as the Chief Secretary of the Northern Province from next Monday (26).
Mr. Bandulasena’s service as the Government Agent for Vavuniya since January 21 last year is admired by all communities in the district.

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
