Parliament meets for first time since Sinhala and Tamil New Year

Parliament is meeting today (5) for its first sitting since the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

Several orders and regulations under the Colombo Port City Economic Commission Act are to be approved today.

Parliament's first sitting week for the month of May will continue from today till May 8. Tomorrow 6), the second reading of the Rescue, Rehabilitation and Insolvency (Corporate and Personal) Bill will be held

Regulations under the National Transport Commission Act, Regulations under the Motor Traffic Act, Regulations under the Immigrants and Emigrants Act (Chapter 351), Resolution under the Public Security Ordinance and Resolution under the Essential Public Services Act are to be taken up by the House on Thursday (7).

Visiting Vietnamese President To Lam is to address Parliament on Friday (8) morning. The House is also scheduled to take up seven Private Members' Motion on Friday.
