Agreement signed to increase plantation workers daily wage

The Regional Plantation Companies (RPCs) and the Government at the Ministry of Plantation and Community Infrastructure signed an agreement to increase the daily wage of plantation workers to Rs. 1,750.

The Wattala Magistrate’s Court has further remanded former Minister Johnston Fernando, his two sons, and two others until  February 13 for being in connection with the alleged misuse of a Sathosa vehicle during Fernando’s tenure as Trade Minister.

CA postpones decision on Ven Kassapa's Writ Petition

The Court of Appeal has postponed the decision on a writ petition until  February 3 which was filed seeking the invalidation of the remand order issued against Venerable Balangoda Kassapa Thero and Venerable Trincomalee Kalyanawansa Tissa Thero in connection with the Buddha statue incident in Trincomalee.
