A presidential task force has been set-up to curb the occurence of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) across the country.
Several prevention programmes for CKD were conducted with the cooperation of several Ministries and Departments last year.
In a bid to carry out more such programmes via this presidential task force and achieve this year's milestones, an annual action plan has also been prepared to this effect.
Accordingly, cabinet granted approval to a proposal put forward by President Maithripala Sirisena on Tuesday (Feb 12) to secure funds for the implementation of these programmes.
