Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, in a special statement yesterday (Nov 20), said he has decided to step down from his position out of respect for democracy and in keeping to the mandate of the people.
Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has been summoned by the Bribery Commission following a statement he made supporting MP Chamara Sampath Dissanayake who is in custody.
