Jayakody captures Trillium trophy

Ceylinco Trillium Residencies is another majestic project coming under the wing of Lalith Kotalawela’s Ceylinco Enterprise. A high rise structure of luxury apartments overlooking the Ridgeways of the Royal Colombo Golf Club will very soon be ready for occupation. They sponsored an excellent golfing event after which many queued to sign up for occupation, I understand.

Sunil Jayakody was once again in topping form. Despite unfavourable playing conditions, his aggressive and positive style was quite rewarding when he cracked a splendid nett 66 to win the ‘A’ Classic and a classy trophy to bring bright smiles all over Manori, his attractive wife. Gangling David Evans has now become a 3 putting specialist hit the dust with misery on the greens to be soundly beaten by 3 strokes. Nirmal Hettiarachy and Tissa Jayasinghe struggled in the region of misery. One as messy as the other, they tied for the wooden spoon in the ‘A’ Category.

Sangani shines

A delightfully pleasant and most talented young kid, Suhayb Sangani, had a great round of 68. The boy needs expert guidance before the real mould is formed and then he will blossom into one of our great prospects. He beat D. Gunaratne, who had a splendid round of nett 69.

Han wins

In the ‘C’ Division, the competition was not much to write home about. Han on 70 nett and Deanath Kulatunge on 71 nett had a minor battle on their hands, which eventually gave Hans victory.

De Mel the senior

Pleasant, soft-spoken easy-going Lal de Mel was the toast in the verandah of the Royal Colombo. A popular personality, there were queues to congratulate him on his splendid victory in the Senior Division with nett 67. P.H.B.Samaradiwakara once again was a happy and popular winner, when he collected 2nd position beaten by one stroke.

Conclusion

The course is getting untidy. The disgusting weather is certainly not helpful.
The Ceylinco Trillium Residencies competition was a happy occasion and the very many affluent were quick to make reservations so they can in the luxury of the apartment enjoy the scenic beauty of the Ridgeways of the Royal Colombo

Bakelman and Daluwatte dominated the confetti production line with untidy packs. Mylvaganam cracked an ugly century and tore up his card.
