Duminda granted bail Colombo Chief Magistrate Kusala Sarojini Weerawardena granted bail to UNP Western Provincial Councillor Duminda Silva. The councillor was charged with unlawful assembly and assaulting a female employee of the American Embassy at Clancy's Night Club at Cinnamon Gardens on May 26. The Colombo Crimes Division informed court that the investigation was still in progress and that they had to arrest four more suspects for questioning. Suspect Duminda Silva is alleged to have assaulted Ms. Sigrid Iksha Rivara and two male officers Wilbur Lon Lambon and Solomons at the club. The court ordered surety bail of Rs. 100,000 and Rs. 5,000 cash bail and ordered the suspect to report to the CCD between 9.00 am and 12 noon on the last Sunday of every month till the conclusion of the case. Attorney Anil Silva appeared for the suspect.
