Matchless 10 at the BMICH ‘The Matchless 10’, a musical explosion with the cream of the at local talent, will come alive at the BMICH on Saturday, August 5 at 6.00 pm to raise funds for the Gamini Dissanayake Foundation.
The funds will be used to award scholarships for the deserving youth, who failed to enter the University by a narrow margin and cannot try again for the second time because their parents cannot afford such an expenditure.
The MATCHELESS 10 are Sunil Perera with Piyal, Sohan Weerasinghe with Yasmin De Silva, Corinne Almeida, Annesley Malawana, Migonne Fernando, Keerthi Pasquel, Uresha Ravihari, Centigradz, Shihan Mihiranga and Teesha with Channa and Upuli dancers. The Compere is Vijaya Corea. The Institute, selects the most deserving, teaches them English, trains them in Computer Science and secures for them permanent employment that will bring them a monthly salary. The net result is that with a steady income they and their families are able to carve out a decent living for themselves. THE MATCHLESS 10 is a music-song and dance extravaganza, the like of which has never been witnessed before. The performing artistes are 10 of the most talented artistes who are coming out with performances that are specially styled to give the audience a new brand of entertainment. The X'periments who will be backing the artistes have already started rehearsals with attention to detail and reaching for nothing short of excellence! The entertainment has been meticulously planned to give maximum satisfaction to a discerning audience that looks for entertainment par excellence. There is a perfect mix of the English, Sinhala, Hindi, Kaffringna and of course the sensational new sounds for the young. Tickets are priced at Rs.2000/- , 1500/-, 1000/-
