Swarnavahini turns to ‘Sayaveni Patumaga’
'Sayaweni Patumaga' (Sixth Lane) directed by Dee.
Ga. Somapala is another popular teledrama to join Swarnavahini tele
base. It is telecast every weekday at 7.30 pm.
To a script of Somaweera Senanayake, 'Sayaweni
Patumaga' is jointly produced by Aruna Mendis and Ruwan Mendis.
The story is set in a suburban environment, peopled
by low-income earners and middle class families. Revolving around
a persevering young man, the teledrama depicts how he achieves his
objectives despite seemingly insurmountable odds.
Suwandaratne starred by Palitha Silva, the protagonist
is an innocent man who depends on selling food parcels kept in a
cart by the road. His only relative is his younger sister, Sulochana
(Himali Sayurangi) is an equally energetic young woman.
Suwandaratne's assistant, Sirimangala (Rodney
Warnakula) is a jovial innocent man well-known for his foolishness
at times. Working hard they manage to develop their food business.
Suwandaratna is in love with Aparna (Nadeesha
Alahapperuma), niece of Rosa Nona (Ramya Wanigasekara), and owner
of a boutique in the town. But several wealthy young men in the
area are interested in her too. Encouraged by Rosa Nona, Aparna
gives up her friendship with Suwandaratne, with the hope of finding
a better and wealthier partner.
Although Suwandaratne is disappointed, with the
encouragement given by his sister, he moves forward and becomes
a very successful businessman.
Meanwhile, Sulochana, too gets employed in a factory,
owned by a wealthy and successful young businessman, Asitha. By
sheer hard work and perseverance, she reaches to the top, within
a very short time. Asitha falls in love with Sulochana.
Asitha also is the younger brother of Lasith who
entices Aparna, Suwandaratna's former friend.
Will Asitha be able to get married to Sulochana?
What would Suwandaratne do? What is the future hope for Sulochana?
Will Aparna be able to realise her dreams of marrying a wealthy
man? All these will be answered at the end of 'Sayaweni Patumaga'.
Others in the stellar cast include Kanchana Kodithuwakku,
Anula Karunathilaka, Anura Bandara Rajaguru, Maheshika Gunasekara,
Sunil Hettiarachchi, Shiromika Fernando, Rupa Pathirana, Namal Bandara
and Samanpriya Herath.
