“Bronze” strikers to be felicitated

The Teachers Guild and Past Pupils Association of Christ Church College Matale have decided to honour and pay tribute to eleven old boys of the school, who represented the men’s national hockey team that won the ‘Bronze’ medal by defeating Bangladesh 2-0 in the decider for the third place at the 10th SAG Hockey Championships – 2006 played recently at Matale.

The national team had fifteen players from Matale, of which eleven were products of Christ Church Matale.

They represented their ‘Alma Mater’ at hockey Under all age groups at District, Provincial and National level and as members of the national team at International level.

The players (old boys of Christ Church Matale) to be felicitated.
