Flexiprint – bronze winner at Entrepreneur Awards 2005

Flexiprint initially established to produce 3.5 million tea bags, is currently producing well over 50 million tea bags and envelopes a day with a cadre of 150 employees helping the tea industry to make its mark in the global market arena with Ceylon tea par excellence.

Sathis Abeywickrema-Managing Director of Flexiprint Ltd was awarded the Bronze medal for the Extra Large category of Enterprises for Western Province and for National, at the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2005 organized by the FCCISL at BMICH recently.

In a press release, Flexiprint said Abeywickerema, a student of S. Thomas’ College Guruthalawa and Richmond College Galle, started his career as a temporary supervisor and subsequently was employed as a management trainee at Aitken Spence Printing Department and has passed many milestones on his journey of success to be the head of four leading companies. Flexiprint and Print USA support Sri Lankan products in the international market by way of supplying printed packaging.

Trade USA (Pvt) Ltd, is a long standing supplier to Sri Lankan Airlines, and is an agent for renowned brands of printer requisites. “Abeywickrema’s prowess in practical agriculture and love for nature is exemplified in the nature friendly and an echo friendly agriculture and tea based project in Morawaka,” it said. Flexiprint Ltd was his brainchild which has a short history of 12 years.
