Yoshitha off to UK for Naval training

Naval recruit Yoshitha Rajapaksa, son of President Mahinda Rajapaksa has entered UK’s Royal Naval College in Dartmouth as a cadet officer.

He joined the Sri Lanka Navy and served nearly two weeks at their training academy in Trincomalee before proceeding to the UK.

A flag rank officer of the Navy has accompanied him but it is not clear whether he will return or remain there for the duration of the course.

According to senior officials, the Sri Lanka Navy will meet the costs of young Rajapaksa’s course.
