‘Rata Ekata’ for World Cup

A mega musical show will be held at the Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Khettarama commencing at 6.00pm on Monday, February 26 to convey Nation’s best wishes to our national cricketers on World Cup Tour next month.

Sri Lanka Cricket together with MTV / MBC has organized this Musical Show on Monday as part of their mass communication Campaign consisting of TV / Radio / Press and a Ground Promotion which include a Road Show.

The Road Show which commenced on 15 February from Anuradhapura travelled through the country covering key towns en route to Colombo where the general public will write their wishes in large Flexes provided for the purpose.

The Road Show will arrive Colombo and climax with the Mega Musical Show where the National Cricketers will be in attendance.

The cricketers will be wished on stage by key personalities in the cricketing fraternity and representing the general public - leading musicians, film stars and others.

Chinthy

Popular musicians are billed to perform at this show including Bathiya and Santhush, Corrine Almeida, Saman de Silva, Iraj and Chinthy to name a few and backed by Flash Back.

The Show will go on till late in the night with unlimited entertainment for young and old alike with a variety of food available.

‘The entrance to this event is free and therefore, a very large gathering is expected in support of their cricketing heroes’ an official told TV Times.

‘Sri Lanka Cricket has organized this whole campaign to boost the morale of the National Cricketers in their quest to win the forthcoming Cricket World Cup and bring honour and glory to Sri Lanka again ‘ said Lakith Peiris - SLC's Promotions and PR Coordinator.

Also, he explained that the theme of the Campaign is ‘Rata Ekata’ in Sinhala and ‘The Nation as One’ in English, which has a dual meaning - The Nation is unified as one irrespective of caste, creed religion when it comes to Cricket and the other being Taking the Sri Lanka to No. 1 position or to win the World Cup.
