Josephians regain trophy

St Joseph's pulled off a thrilling three wicket win over traditional rivals St Peter's in their 33rd limited over encounter played at the R. Premadasa Stadium yesterday to regain the Rev.Fr. Peter A. Pillai challenge trophy after a lapse of two years. The Peterites batting first were in deep trouble with the score on 91 for 6 before useful knocks from Lakshan Rodrigo, Angelo Perera and Chatura Peiris helped them make a respectable 201.

The Josephians in their run chase fared no better as they too were struggling on 89 for 5 in the 23rd over before a productive stand of 76 for the sixth wicket between Roshane Silva who remained unbeaten on 101 with ten boundaries and thrre sixes and Thisara Perera helped them recover to record a win in the 45th over.
