Lankan firm develops software solution for Galileo-Emirates

Duo Software (Pvt) Limited – a software development company based in Colombo – has successfully completed an advanced printing system for Galileo-Emirates, the local company said. The system will in the near future be used by almost all Galileo connected agencies worldwide, facilitating the process, improvements for all concerned.

This project basically entailed modifying the desktop application known as ‘Castaway’ and transforming it into a web-based application with additional features. Duo Software was selected for this project from a large number of local software firms evaluated by Galileo-Emirates, the company’s Chief Technical Officer Sudheera De Silva said.

Features of the report designer application include facilities to load the controls to designer window under different categories; to design templates (such as embarkation slips, invoices, passes, hotel/car vouchers, air-tickets, etc.) very easily by dragging and dropping the controls; to resize and alter captions; to save and retrieve templates under different categories; and to exchange data with an Emirates booking system through web services.

The printing option is also available, and on the designer interface there are some mechanisms to enhance user-friendliness by providing rulers, grid view as well as undo and redo facilities.
