Starting from April 22, the teledrama will be aired on every Sunday at 08.30 pm on Derana channel.
The story revolves around Navoda and Prasangi best of friends from their school days. Prasangi enjoyed a higher social status than Navoda. But Navoda gets married to Dhakshini, an executive in a bank and steps into the so called higher society. Though they got married against their parents' wishes Navoda becomes proud of her marriage to Dhakshinl who hails from an affluent background.
Prasangi marries Nilakshana, a middle class clerk. After getting married they leave Kirindiwela and come to reside in Colombo and tries with greatest difficulty to build up their own home.
During this period Cyril, a relative of Nilkashana comes down from Italy and invites Nilakshana to go to Italy. Cyril has got the citizenship in Italy and recruits people to Italy. Though Nilakshana was offered a special concession he ignores the idea as he is not willing to leave Prasangi alone.
Though Navoda and Prasangi were good friends , Navoda now feels that she was betrayed by and looked down on by Prasangi as she hails from a high class family. Thus she decides to take advantage of every opportunity to hurt Prasangi.
Dhakshina falls in love with Gasiri, a relation of Thilaka. Dhakshina sells all his wealth without Navoda's knowledge and goes abroad with Gasiri. Navoda faces the grave fate of having to go back to her village she ignored.
