The growth and modernization has given rise to many shopping centre and malls springing up in major cities.
The feel inside a shopping centre or a mall determines the type of energy existing in a building and translates to the success of that shopping mall.
The design of a commercial establishment, its shape and the right balance of the Feng Shui elements enhances the feel and prosperity. Some of them have large water features as attraction and some don’t, but the shape of the building and the movement of the people within the shopping centre, simulates the equivalent of water flowing in terms of energy movement.
There are many shopping malls which have incorporated in its design water curtains but huge water curtains where water flows from a very high level is not good Feng Shui, so fish ponds with Koi fishes would be more appropriate.
The fish represents wealth and prosperity because the actual word in Chinese for fish also translates to “abundance”. As with most Chinese symbols, the carp and Koi has a legend attached to it.
Koi is a drum shaped Japanese fish which can make your garden pond come alive with its vibrant colours and playful behavior. Koi is a big fish and can grow to lengths of about three feet and can attain a weight of 40 lbs. Koi should be kept away from direct sunlight. Therefore, try to locate the pond in an area that is shady. This is why they require large ponds with excellent water quality to survive. In addition Koi fish like to live in communities and are not the lonely types. So you should be introducing at-least three to four Koi fish to start with. Having a Koi pond with bubbling water and a tasteful water fountain would be a very ideal Feng Shui enhancer as it would not only be a visual delight but the Koi pond and the fish would be the added attraction for children and those who wish to just relax a little after shopping.
A very accurate and excellent water feature as per Feng Shui should have the support of the five elements in the fountain and in its design, this may appear a little challenging yet we can create a feature which has specific direction of water flow and shape of fountain. It could be something like the EARTH element which is represented by water flowing down to the centre-point or to the earth. Next METAL element in the form of the container made out of bronze ring which could be circular in shape as circle represents the metal element and the WATER element would be the actual water flowing down from the ring.
Placing under water lights or laser lights signifies the FIRE element.
In Feng Shui, all things have their appropriate place. Positive Chi, the basic energy of life, can be attained by appropriate placement and direction of objects and buildings.
Water as an energizer or as a cure is a very effective element in restoring imbalances in a space however the direction of flow and positioning of the water feature is critical and it varies according to the compass direction and orientation of the structure and the plot axis.
