New look for Palm Beach

Palm Beach Hotel Mount Lavinia is expanding its service and facilities from a traditional beach resort to multi purpose destination. The hotel is adding several new features to their growing conference and wedding market since lately. The management has also introduced a -Thai spa massage center and a gymnasium with all modern equipment. In addition a Don Y J roof top restaurant too has been opened and due to its picturesque view it is gaining popularity.

Built in 2002, the hotel comprises 44 double rooms with air conditioning, mini fridge, IDD facility, hot and cold water and free coffee making facility inside the room.

The Mini Conference Hall (40 pax), 250 pax Long Conference Hall, Coffee Shop (50 covers), well stocked Bar, Gymnasium, Roof Top Beer Garden, Beach Restaurant, Swimming Pool including a Kiddies Pool, Pastry Shop, Travel Counter, and 2 Internet connections (WLAN) are some of the added attractions of the hotel.

The other attractions are a lobby with 24-hour reception, a hotel safe and a currency exchange facility.‘We cater for wedding receptions and other private parties Conventions and Seminars as we consist of four elegant Banquet Halls' said Lalin Jayawardens, the GM of the hotel.

Sunday Buffet is the most popular event on Sunday at Palm Beach and reason is the affordable prices for the public. The both Regal and Imperial reception halls with back to back wall carpets can accommodate 300 guests each while Regent and Summer Time could house around 330.

'The Palm Beach hotel was taken over by D. Yasapala Jayasuriya over few years ago. Since then, it has gone through a major refurbishment drive' GM said. ‘We have decided to offer membership of the gymnasium and the swimming pool for non residents as well’ he added.

An exclusive beach club serving cool and refreshing drinks, with succulent bites is only a stones throw away from the hotel. A professional life guard too is at hand, in the event of any mishaps.

Ayurvedha Centre With experienced therapists at hand the Ayurvedha center offers one a sense of well being and total relaxation.
