Sripathi boycotts disciplinary committee hearing

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party’s (SLFP) disciplinary committee informed former Minister Sripathi Suriyaarachchi to appear before it on August 4th, after he failed to turn up at yesterday’s hearing. It warned that his continued boycott of the hearing would force the committee to submit a one- sided report to the party’s general secretary.

The President of the disciplinary committee Minister W.D.J. Seneviratne waited two hours for Mr. Suriyaarachchi to show up at the SLFP headsquarters at Maradana last morning and left after despatching a letter informing him of the new date for the hearing.

Mr. Suriyaarachchi had sent a letter to the committee informing that he was unable to attend the hearing on Saturday. Mr. Suriyaarachchi said he was not happy with the composition of the inquiry committee.
