New face for Central Bank
By Bandula Sirimanna
Sri Lanka’s Central Bank is to get a new face after a span of 40 years.
In keeping with the modern era, its design cum logo is undergoing a change aimed at making it more vibrant and attractive. A senior official at the Communications Department of the Bank told The Sunday Times FT the logo, flag and colour scheme of the bank and other items depicting the identity of the Bank would either be changed or redesigned as these items were originally designed some 50 years ago although the lettering and lion in the logo were changed sometime back.
Another problem with the logo is that the bank doesn’t have any copyright as it was designed in the 1950s when such laws didn’t exist.
The Bank this week called for expressions of interest on developing a new corporate design. |
