Bar to felicitate Hemantha

Hemantha Warnakulasuriya

The members of the Bar Association and its affiliates have decided to felicitate Hemantha Warnakulasuriya, President's Counsel, on his appointment as Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to the Republic of Italy.

Mr. Warnakulasuriya is a former Assistant Secretary, Secretary and Deputy President of the Bar Association. During his tenure of office at the Bar Association, he is credited with having started many a scheme that has been continued by his successors. As the President of the Colombo Magistrate's Court Lawyers' Association, he inaugurated a loan scheme with a reputed Bank for the members of the association.

The bank agreed to the proposal of Mr. Warnakulasuriya. It is one of the most successful loan schemes launched by the bank.

The felicitation dinner will be held at the Ceylon Continental Hotel on Saturday the 6th October at 7.30 pm. It is open to the members and their spouses.

The Chief Justice and other Judges of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High Court and District and Magistrate’s Courts, situated in Colombo, are expected to participate.
