Workshop on Ground Improvement Techniques
The Sri Lankan Geotechnical Society (SLGS) in association with the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) will hold a two-day workshop on Ground Improvement Techniques at Hotel Galadari, Colombo on December 17 & 18.
SLGS was inaugurated in 1986 as a forum for scientists, engineers and geologists for the exchange and advancement of knowledge in the field of Geotechnical Engineering in Sri Lanka and is a Member Society of the prestigious International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE). This workshop was organized as a part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the society.
The workshop will be conducted by several international experts covering a wide spectrum of ground improvement techniques including topics currently of special interest to Sri Lanka. Prof. Pedro Pinto (Portugal) - the President of the ISSMGE Prof. Madhira Madhav (India) - Vice President (Asia) of ISSMGE, Prof. Georg Heerten (Germany), Prof. Eun Chui Shin (South Korea) and Prof. Buddhima Indrarathna (Australia) are among the resource persons for the workshop.
Participants who successfully complete the workshop will be awarded with a completion certificate.
