Talking point: Top banker eased out?
Is a foreign bank being discriminatory against local staff? Sections of the banking industry were stunned last week when a senior staffer of a bank, tipped to be appointed to a higher position there, was eased out for no apparent reason.
Insiders however say the officer was forced to resign because higher authorities were unhappy that this competent individual was being appointed to the top post.
They said the Bank head a foreigner, wants to stay on and believed the proposed appointment would be a detterent to his plans.
Insiders say the bank has a very poor human resource history and has been facing many cases in court of unfair dismissal. |
