Kadir killing: 6 top LTTEers charged
The Attorney General has filed two documents direct with the High Court detailing the grounds on which they have concluded that the LTTE hierarchy conspired in the assassination of then Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar in August 2005.
These two documents form part of the indictment of the LTTE supremo Velupillai Prabhakaran, its Intelligence Chief Pottu Amman alias Shivashankar, Charles alias Charles Master, Komadi Manimekhaala alias Madi, Muttiah Sahadevan and Isithora Arokyanathan for the assassination of Mr.Kadirgamar. All six accused have been charged with aiding and abetting an individual known as Vinodhan to assassinate the former foreign minister between January 1 and August 12, 2005.
High Court Judge Kumudini Wickramasinghe ordered that the case be taken up on April 2 and ordered summons to be sent to the witnesses.
