Oscar nominated 'The Phantom of the Opera' will be screened at the Russian Centre in Colombo, on Saturday, June 28 at 5.00 pm.

Directed by Joel Schumacher, the musical drama was nominated for 3 and it's cast included Gerard Butler (The Phantom), Emmy Rossum (Christine), Patric Wilson (Raoul) and Miranda Richardson (Madame Giry). The story of a disfigured musical genius, hidden away in the Paris Opera House, terrorizes the opera company for the unwitting benefit of a young Soprano Christine, whom he trains and loves. And the Phantom may emerge from the shadows past the point of no return. This movie was also awarded the National Board of Review Breakthrough performance Award.
