Qtex Solutions (Pvt) Ltd., organizers of Sri Lanka’s first Business Plan Competition, said this week that the competition is now entering Phase II of the contest and the 10 finalists will make presentations of their detailed Business Plans on Tuesday at the Taj Samudra Hotel to a select panel of judges. The competition is presented in association with DFCC Bank, DFCC Vardhana Bank, and media sponsors - The Sunday Times and the Daily Mirror.
The winners will be announced on Wednesday, July 2.
The competition aims to encourage the development of entrepreneurial thinking among Sri Lankans by awarding prizes for the best business plan submission. It is in association with the Entrepreneurship Foundation based in Fairfield Connecticut, USA and is a community service initiative of Qtex Solutions. Lafir Thassim, Chairman of Qtex Solutions, based in New York, will be visiting Sri Lanka, for the successful conclusion of Phase II of the contest.
The 10 teams that made it to the Final Round (Phase II) will present their business plan (and the framework within which the business must operate and ultimately succeed or fail), to a distinguished panel of judges, comprising of CEOs and Senior Managers from established companies in Sri Lanka. These presentations provide the teams with the opportunity to pitch their business to the judges in the way they would pitch to a potential investor. Upon listening to the presentations and reviewing the plans, the judges will evaluate the presentation, confer and select the winners at the Final event.
The 10 finalists - Delan Kellar, Dimitri Fernando, Ragulan Tharmakulasingam, Riyad Ismail, Suraj Goonewardena, Lai Yung Sun, Piyal Senadeera, Himantha Cooray, Harshini Santiago, and Indrajith Gajapala -- will submit their detailed business plans with a realistic view of the expectations and long-term objectives for their ventures. |
