During the last Sinhala Avurudu vacation, my class teacher arranged a trip to Leisure World. My class teacher and another three teachers joined the trip. We went there by bus. About twenty two pupils joined this trip.
We left our home town at about six in the morning. We all brought our breakfast and lunch packets. At about nine thirty in the morning we were at the main gate of Leisure World. Our teachers bought entrance tickets for all of us. We were overjoyed when we entered the gate.
Our teachers instructed the group to enjoy the dry area first. There were many items for children's entertainment. We had never seen such sports apparatus before.
The most attractive thing is the water games. We enjoyed very much riding boats, swimming in the artificial sea. Our teachers kept their eyes on us when we were participating in various activities.
Our teachers warned us when we were skipping and sliding in the water. My elder sister who refrained from every activity took many photographs. I cannot explain in words how we enjoyed the trip.
My classmates
9 – 11 years
There are 53 friends in my class. I like them all because they are good and friendly.
Out of them Anuji is one of the funniest. Her jokes made all of us laugh, even our class teacher. She can act very well, and she is very clever too. Gayani is the most beautiful girl in our class.
My closest friends are Chamathka, Sudhara and Chathuki. Sudhara is my best friend. She is very clever and she can write dramas very well. Sometimes we get angry with each other. But we soon make it up. It is Chamathka who likes to recite poems. In our class Sathya is the Chess champion. No one could beat her in Chess.
It is fun to have 53 classmates. Though I didn't mention about all of them, I like them all. We share our knowledge and help each other. I am very lucky to have such good classmates.
