Every year the Year 6 children of CIS are given the chance of going on a trip to Sinharaja Forest.
We were given a list of things to be brought on that day. Finally, the big day arrived. All my friends came to school on March 26, equipped with their luggage and a pillow.
We started our journey around 11 a.m. and we had our lunch on the way. The bus arrived at the lodge around 6 p.m. and all of us were very tired. We were instructed to come to the dining hall after a wash.
All of us played games and had dinner.
Before sleeping the girls had real fun with a pillow fight. On the following day we had a good breakfast and packed our lunch before setting off to explore the forest.
There were lots of trees, bushes and creepers which we haven't seen before. The teachers explained all the details about this amazing forest while we were walking. Loads of leeches were attacking us all the while which I didn't like at all. We used lime and salt to get them off. We felt really tired around mid-day and we had our snack lunch on top of a huge rock.
We arrived at our lodge around 5.30 p.m. and had a delicious cup of tea.
After that we went to a river nearby and had fun in the water. Even that night we played games and had a quiz too.
We left the lodge after breakfast on the following day. When we reached the school we saw our parents anxiously waiting for our arrival.
It was a fun-filled
educational trip which we will remember forever.
