The 29th National Conference of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) will be held on October 10-11 on the theme “Re imagine – creating a successful business in challenging times by thinking differently”.
In a press release issued by ICASL, Chairman of the Conference Committee Sujeewa Rajapakse said, “The basis for the theme this year is to re-imagine the way we do business in the backdrop of the difficult times we are in. It is also to think positively to bring about quantum changes to what we do, that will help our businesses do well even in these difficult times … grabbing all possible opportunities and also be prepared to shift gear when the time is right and go into accelerated growth”.
Chairman of the Technical Committee Channa Gunasekera said that a group of eminent and respected corporate personalities will conduct the technical sessions and take participants through six main presentations titled ‘Creating.
Opportunities’, ‘Developing a Blue Ocean Strategy’, ‘The Differentiating Factor’, ‘Navigating the Vortex’ and ‘Forward Focus’. Among the personalities billed to speak at the sessions are Dr. Uditha Liyanage – Director, Postgraduate Institute of Management, Colombo, Rustom Jilla - Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Ansell Limited, USA, Phillip Satish Rao - Partner, Business Risk Services, Ernst & Young, Malaysia and Brendan Murtagh - Deputy President, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK.
President of the ICASL Nishan Fernando said that for over a quarter century, this national conference has added much value with themes ranging from economy, people skills, accountability, governance and ethics, etc being deliberated by eminent panels with an equally competent professional audience in an intellectually stimulating environment providing the much needed debate. |
