World-class Japanese pianist to play here

World renowned Japanese pianist Masahiko Shinohara who won rounds of applause when he performed at the Russian Cultural Centre, Colombo in March this year, is back in Sri Lanka to perform on October 19 at the Russian Cultural Centre, at 10, Independence Avenue, Colombo 7 at 7 p.m. and at the E.O.E. Pereira Hall at the Engineering Faculty at the University of Peradeniya on October 31 at 6.30 p.m.

He will include in his repertoire the Sonata in F-major KV 32 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the Sonata No. 32 op. 111 in c-minor by Ludwig van Beethoven - the last Sonata that Beethoven composed, the prélude no. 10 op 32 in b-minor by Sergei Rachmaninov and the prélude no. 5 in G-major. His final offering will be Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition”.

Admission for the Recital in Colombo is by programmes, available at the Russian Cultural Centre, Colombo 7 as well as at the gate of the E.O.E. Pereira Hall at the Engineering Faculty at the University of Peradeniya or from Mrs. Bridget Halpé (081-2239113).
