Matale Region Inter School Mini Tennis Championship 2008 for boys and girls under 8 years was held on June 24 at the Matale Tennis Club Courts.

The tournament, the fourth in the series was conducted by the Matale Tennis Club together with the S.L.T.A. The event was sponsored by Touchwood Investments (Pvt.) Ltd. – Colombo.

Five boys teams and five girls teams from seven schools in the Matale Educational Zone
participated. Sirimavo Bandaranaike Model School emerged Boys Champions, while the Girls Champions were St. Thomas' Girls' School, Matale.

These two champion teams are now eligible to participate in the All Island Inter School Mini Tennis Championship – 2008, to be held shortly at the S.L.T.A. in Colombo.
