The Sinhala production of German playwright Manuel Schobel's 'Beanpole Really Really Wants To' will go on the boards on November 21 and 22 at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Nuwara Eliya.
Directed by M. Safeer, "Bennieta Eththenma Ona..", the two-person play deals with an extremely tall boy who seems to have stayed mentally small and how a school inspector has to decide whether he is mature enough to go to school after having already been kept back a year. The more the school inspector becomes involved with the child, the more self-confidence Beanpole gains and becomes determined to attend a normal school. The story is told in a witty and lively language in which the two actors play different roles...
