Funday Times - A Poem for the week

School after school
By Tabitha Abraham (12 years), Bishop's College

Everything so silent,
Not a sound to be heard!
Everything still, so quiet,
Not a whisper, not a word.

Squirrels running on the stairs,
No one to disturb them,
Crows flying here and there, in pairs,
Just wandering and roaming about.

No children, no teachers,
No screaming, no yells.
Everything seems fast asleep,
In deep sleeping spells.

The classrooms all empty,
Clean school floors;
No bags, no pens, no books,
Not a sound from the doors.

But when school starts again,
You'll hear laughter and roars.
The silent classes'll be the opposite,
And dirt on the floors.
