A Sunday out on a different latitude

By Natasha Fernandopulle

Sundays are about relaxing with family or friends, about re-charging your batteries for the busy week ahead. Most often when we think of getting away for a day, we would probably opt to hit the beaches down south.

However, a day out need not be so far out of Colombo. In fact, it can be right here in Colombo as the Taj Samudra's Latitude restaurant offers a scrumptious Sunday brunch with a range of cuisine from Indian to Continental to Middle Eastern, Italian and of course Sri Lankan as well as fun for the family.

You can spend the whole day by the pool, have a dip, enjoy some food or wine and just jump back in. For children there are fun activities like face painting not to mention their food favourites like burgers and pizzas by the pool side.

The range of food starts from cereals and Danish and savoury pastries and then you can move on to soup and a variety of breads along with starters ranging from hummus, to salads and also the famous Indian street food – chaat. The main course runs the gamut from pizzas, pastas, Biriyanis to roast meats and much more.

The desserts are inviting too – from crepes which can be tried out with different toppings and fillings along with mousses and tarts. All these can be savoured with the variety of fresh juices and wines.
So make it a date with family or friends at the Latitude at the Taj Samudra.
