Student’s painting on X’mas stamp

On December 9 this year, the Philatelic Bureau issued two stamps of Rs. 5 and Rs. 30 denominations to mark Christmas.

The stamps were issued at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Galle.

A painting by Isuri D. Tittawella a Buddhist student of Devi Balika Vidyalaya in Colombo depicting the theme “Christmas is the Peace Bridge between the north and south of Sri Lanka” appears on the Rs. 5 stamp, while the Rs. 30 stamp illustrates St Mary’s Cathedral, Galle.
