CIVIMECH recognised as HVACR Contractor of the year 2008

CIVIMECH has been awarded the ‘HVACR Contractor of the Year’ for 2008 by the ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers), the company said this week.
Apart from the ‘HVACR Contractor of the Year Award’; the company also bagged another accolade where its Chief Engineer, Indunil Jayawardena was awarded the ‘HVACR Engineer of the Year 2008’.
Among the many projects CIVIMECH has handled in 2008 were a large scale garment factory in Bingiriya and the 36 storey Iceland Apartment Complex in Colombo 3.

For the Iceland apartment complex Civimech introduced a VRV Air Conditioning system with the lates technology on power saving. The company is currently handling two mega projects - Kandy Shopping Complex, which is the second largest building in Sri Lanka, and a garment factory called Alfa Apparels Ltd.

A subsidiary firm, Civimech Agro is operating a 215-acre farm at Girandurukotte growing fruit and vegetable for both local and export markets while another unit, Civimech Automobile at Moratuwa, handles repairing and servicing of vehicles.
