Belgium beckons

The “Best of Belgium” will be showcased at a unique exhibition on March 26 at the Ena De Silva Residence, No.5, Alfred Place, Colombo 3.

The event organised by The European Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka and the Belgian Consulate celebrates the cultural roots of Belgium by presenting and promoting the arts, food and spirit that is uniquely Belgian.

Highlights include an exhibition and sale of the works of Belgian artist Saskia Pintelon Pringiers who now lives in Sri Lanka, the Belgian cuisine of visiting Belgian Chef Jean-Pierre Malysse and Belgian chef Michael Saelen, a range of Belgian beers, European wines and Belgian cigars as well as the sale of special Belgian candles by Vidrici.

Of interest also would be the chance for the public to view the venue, Geoffrey Bawa’s architectural masterpiece better known as the Ena de Silva Residence, No 5, Alfred Place, Colombo 05.
There will also be an exhibition and sale of artwork, wood carvings and batiks by the Aluvihare Foundation in the morning.
