Exposition of Sacred Relics for Vesak

Sacred relics of Lord Buddha and his disciples, or sravakas, will be displayed in temples in Colombo, Tissamaharama and Anuradhapura as part of religious observances to mark Vesak. The relics have been displayed in more than 44 countries in a relics tour that began in 2001. The religious exposition, which opened yesterday at the Isipathanaramaya, Havelock Road, Colombo 5, is organised by the Damrivi Foundation. Pic by Sanka Vidanagama.
