Awards for two Sunday Times photographers

Photojournalists J. Weerasekera and Saman Kariyawasam of The Sunday Times won merit awards at the World Environment Day Photographic Competition 2009 organised by the Central Environmental Authority. J. Weerasekera won merit awards for his pictures ‘Salt Collectors’ in the open category and ‘Senehasa’ in the ‘Beauty of Nature’ category. Saman Kariyawasam’s merit awards were for ‘The Fly’ and ‘Looking for Beauty’ in the ‘Beauty of Nature’ in Sri Lanka category.

Their photographs were on display at an exhibition that concluded yesterday.
