Mr. Kithsiri Wanigasekara has been appointed as the Executive Director of Abans Financial Services Limited. AFSL which is registered as a Finance Company with the Monetary Board of The Central Bank and operates Branches in Kandy, Dambulla, Galle and Badulla, as well as three Customer Centres in Kurunegala, Anuradhapura and Ratnapura.
It is with the greatest confidence that AFSL has appointed Mr. Wanigasekara to this widespread organization - both for his financial acumen and experience in over 25 years service in the Financial Services industry, but also with a proven record of lending and directing operations of a finance company of the large magnitude such as ours is. His outreach has also seen him as Chairman/CEO of one of the leading Finance Houses in the country as well as being Chairman of the Finance Houses Association of Sri Lanka for three consecutive years - 1998, 1999 and 2000.
Abans Financial Services has a stated capital and reserves amounting to Rs. 379 Mn. as at March 2009 while Total Assets and Public Deposits stood at Rs. 1536 Mn. and Rs. 590 Mn. respectively as at March 31, 2009. As is well recognized and known, Abans is one of the largest retailers of Consumer electronic and household products, backed by the exclusive agency franchise of LG Electronics Inc. - LG being the brand leader in several product categories as well as parent company with its sizeable distribution network. Abans has also merited National long-term "A(lka)" rating with "stable outlook" by Fitch Ratings.
