Comprehensive Resort Hotel Guide out in November

Sri Lanka is to launch its first, comprehensive, resort hotel guide in November this year in anticipation of an increased arrival of tourists, starting this winter season.

“The Resort Hotel Guide – Sri Lanka 2010 will be launched in London and Germany this November,” said the Chairman and Managing Director of Adspace & E, Peter Arendtsz, at a press conference to announce the resort guide last week. The company has already tried and tested a similar magazine in the Maldives for eight years.

The Sri Lankan resort guide will be produced by Adspace in partnership with Softwave, the local printing company, and is supported by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau. The Resort Hotel Guide is a magazine carrying a ‘hotel and resort index,’ listing all available accommodation in Sri Lanka.

The rest of the Guide will have three other sections. This includes a general section giving cultural information and information for travellers, such as travel tips and tourist attractions, a second section for advertisements from travel agents, shops, communication services and other products and services and a third section for hotels and resorts to advertise along with photographs.

Initially the Guide will be published in German and English but will later expand to a total of eight languages. Up to 5,000 copies are scheduled to be printed and distributed at exhibitions where the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotions Bureau will be participating. The magazine will be updated and published annually.
