The Asiri Group of Hospitals will invest about Rs 600 million in acquiring Matara Medi House (Pvt) Ltd, if they decide to do so, after the due diligence, an Asiri source said.
If the due diligence is successful, Asiri Hospitals Matara (Pvt) Ltd, which is a full owned subsidiary of Asiri Hospitals, will acquire the Matara Medi House, the company said in an announcement to the Colombo Stock Exchange on Friday. The source said that Asiri is planning to set up the Kandy hospital sometime this year and is also scouting for land in Jaffna to build a hospital.
Currently, Asiri consists of four hospitals, of which three are situated within the Colombo city limits namely Asiri Hospital Plc, Asiri Surgical Hospitals Plc and Asiri Central Hospital. Asiri is also close to completing another large scale hospital project - “The Central” down Norris Canal Road with a capacity of 270 beds and will be the latest addition to the Asiri Group. |
