The Trinity College Choir will perform “The Cross of Christ”, a service of choral music, at the Trinity College Chapel, Kandy on March 28 at 6 p.m. A highlight of the performance will be the magnificent Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah.
This Easter programme of music has been held over many years with the Trinity College Choir continuing to maintain and develop its rich tradition in choral music. The earliest records of an organised choir at Trinity go as far back as the inception of the college in 1872. Over the past few years, performances have improved tremendously under the direction of enthusiastic choir master Lasantha Tennekoon, guided by Rev.Fr. Jayanath Panditharathne, master in charge. The choir is assisted by organists Mrs. Sadhana Madasekara and Dr. Suresh De Mel.
