Asoka Handagama’s latest film ‘Vidhu’, a film that hints at the entire social system corrupted with politics and politicians will be released in Regal Colombo and other CEL circuit cinemas from December.
This first children’s movie by internationally acclaimed Handagama who is well-known for his bold directions which has stirred controversy will be out for the December school vacation.
“Vidhu” is a non-schooling boy whose fate dramatically changes after a tourist humiliates him saying that he is not worth a dollar. The child’s fate changes when he starts to question the value of life.
The film stars Chandani Senevirathne, Gamini Hettiarachchi and Himasal Liyanage together with Thanishka Vimalarathne, Shamila Nimanthi Frenando and Himasal Liyanage who are introduced to the silver screen. The film’s roles are also played by Asoka de Soysa, Lanka Bandaranayaka, Amarapala Karasingharachchi, Shyam Fernando, Bhanu Prasanna and Ranjith Marasinghe.
The film is co-produced by Iranthi Abeyasinghe, Jagath Wijenayaka, Prashant Rathi and Kanwar Inder Rai and Prasanna Vithanage for Mindfire Productions, Silumina Films and Premiere Pictures.
Director of photography, Channa Deshapriya, editor is Ravindra Guruge, art Director is Sunil Wijerathna, make up by Hemantha Gamage and Kapila Poogalaarachchi directs the music.
Following Athula Liyanage’s ‘Bambara Walalla’ (Whirlwind) which is now being screened successfully, Lalith Pannipitiya’s ‘Sangili’ will be screened in the CEL circuit cinemas. |
