Education: The agony and the answers

The verdict is in. The fears and concerns of children, parents, teachers and educationists have been justified. They are no longer speculation to be dismissed lightly. Sweet logic and commissions of inquiry -- Focus on Rights

The sweetly logical and more than faintly aggrieved protestations that we hear from government spokespersons, including in particular, the Minister of External Affairs, implore us to give Sri Lanka’s Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission the benefit of the doubt rather than prejudge it unfairly.

Sri Lanka's biggest river basin development project
The armies of Kotte did not bother to survey the surroundings of Sitawaka. The chief commander, Veediya Bandara thought that King Mayadunne and his army had fled, in fear. So he too rested in comfort. In their camp, there were no people who were armed. They had all kept their weapons aside. It was midnight. All of a sudden, there was a flow of soldiers, from all sides.
