Alston’ s World Cup song on YES FM

The new Cricket World Cup song by Alston Koch is now on YES FM. Amidst the many World Cup 2011 songs that have been released and that are not accredited by the ICC, it is refreshing to see this authentic and original song about Sri Lankan cricketers both past and present.

‘We must not forget the cricketers in the past who have brought Sri Lanka & other lesser known countries to this international arena’ said Alston, who is based in Australia now.

This song written by Sri Lankan born legend Alston Koch is played right throughout the Asian region.
The song will also be available as a ring tone on the Etisalat network throughout Asia as of today.
When contacted Koch said ‘this is a straight ‘novelty’ song and should not perhaps be compared with any other as it was written for the general public and mainly for cricket lovers. ‘The lyric is simple and the melody is simple, you either like it or you don’t’ he said

‘I am humbled that the Sri Lankan host network and ESPN have made it their theme and the numerous plays it gets on television and radio stations are an indication of the acceptance of the theme so far’ said Koch.

The song will be presented live in Corfu Greece on the 25th May and at Lords in England on the 1st June 2011.
