Anton Jude a great loss to arts and cinema

Veteran stage actor and well-known comedian in cinema and teledrama, Anton Jude’s demise will be an irreplaceable loss to the country’s art.

Started in stage, Jude spent years with Sri Lankan theatre before he entered cinema and teledrama.

He studied at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic School, Mount Lavinia, Jude entertained thousands of TV audiences with his performance in teledramas ‘Punchi Rala’, ‘Sabanda Pabilis’, ‘Sakisanda Eliyas’ and many more. Jude became a popular cinema actor with his roles in ‘Bahubuthayo’, ‘Rankewita’, ‘Numba Nadan Apata Pissu’, ‘Sikuru Hathe’, ‘Rosa Kele’, ‘Ethumai Methumai’, ‘Mago Digo Dai’ and also Super Six.

Jude was multi-talented as he was equally famed in singing and had several number of his own songs. The loss of Jude would be an irreparable loss to the country’s art and cinema.
